Sean has been developing web applications for companies around the world since 1997. He has been using CFML since 2001 and loves the rapid development that the language affords even though his background is in Java and C++. In recent years, he has been mixing it up by adding Groovy, Scala and Clojure to his CFML projects!
For many years he has been a strong advocate of open source software, contributing to the GNU C++ STL in the 90's and many other projects along the way. In the CFML world he has contributed to most of the open source application frameworks and was the lead developer for both Mach-II and Fusebox at different times. In 2009 he developed and released his own framework, FW/1.
He was a voting member of the ANSI C++ Standards Committee for eight years (and secretary for three) and has worked on virtual machines, interpreters, compilers and code optimizers for a number of languages.
With Railo he can combine his passion for open source software, his experience with language design and implementation, and his desire to help companies become more efficient by using a powerful, dynamic programming language to build great web applications more quickly.
