Roland was born in 1970 and grew up in the Swiss Alps. After turning away from a predetermined career as a Swiss banker, he worked in a music store where he discovered the web in its early days. He replaced guitars and bases with software and worked for some years as an E-Business consultant for Swiss companies. Together with Michael they started their own business in 2001 where they successfully commercialised a Web CMS based on ColdFusion.
Since 2003 Roland lives together with his two kids and his lovely wife in Belgium where he finally managed to get his degree in ICT, worked as a CF and JEE Developer and established a career as Flex Architect for enterprise projects.
Roland is very happy that he was able to contribute to Railo from time to time over the past years, whether it was by talking all night through concepts or by providing some papers or ideas here and there. Now, Roland is a part of it and mostly involved in questions around RIA integrations into Railo.
